Launching Deko MetaFlow™: Metallic PU Resin System for Luxury spaces

Deko Design Systems™ proudly introduces Deko MetaFlow™, a first-of-its-kind water-based metallic polyurethane (PU) resin floor system designed for luxurious residential properties, high-end retail environments and prestigious commercial offices. We spoke with our Chief Product Designer, Sascha Franke, about what makes this system unique and how clients can achieve stunning and long-lasting results.

What Makes This Resin Floor System Unique?

Sascha Franke: “It’s water-based and solvent-free, making it safe for indoor living and working environments. Its proprietary formula keeps metallic pigments in place longer, allowing more creative effects and sophisticated designs.

The system is also cost-efficient which means you need less material for impressive results. For craftsmen, it’s safe and easy to install. Unlike epoxy, this PU system offers superior durability, longevity and resistance to abrasion and chemicals, ideal for high-traffic areas in homes, retail stores and office spaces. Epoxy floors, by comparison, yellows and can be more susceptible to peeling or scratches over time.”

How Long Did it take to Develop?

Sascha Franke: “Innovation is ongoing at our company. We began developing this system over a year ago and continue refining it. Our goal is to push the performance of metallic PU floors while maintaining safety, durability and design flexibility.”

What was the Investment Behind this Innovation?

Sascha Franke: “Developing and upgrading a resin floor system requires significant time and resources. Each project typically involves five-digit euro investments in research, testing and production to ensure superior quality.”

Why Create a New Resin System?

Sascha Franke: “Working closely with residential and commercial clients, specifiers and craftsmen, we noticed common frustrations with other resin floor surfaces: yellowing, peeling and short lifespan.

We also responded to the growing demand for low emission, solvent-free and sustainable flooring. This system is certified to the highest EMICODE standard, ensuring low emissions for maximum protection of health and the environment.”

Why Polyurethane Over Epoxy?

Sascha Franke: “Experience with epoxy metallic floors showed they can be more susceptible to yellowing, peeling or scratches over time. The market is moving toward high-performance, sustainable indoor flooring and PU meets these expectations.

It combines durability, aesthetic appeal and environmental responsibility, offering a long-lasting solution for luxury homes, boutique retail and office spaces.”

Can You Install It Yourself?

Sascha Franke: “We strongly advise against DIY. While easier to work with than many resins, the floor still requires professional skill, creativity, and precision, as it is installed layer by layer over the course of a week. Mistakes are costly.

To ensure perfect results, we recommend either engaging our team directly or having us recommend a professional from our preferred installer network. Even craftsmen who complete our training program may not automatically qualify. Continuous practice, guided support and hands-on experience are essential.

We urge floor owners not to skip essential steps or take shortcuts for a quick or budget-friendly solution. The beauty and longevity of a metallic PU floor rely on careful application and expertise.”

Who Uses This System and How Do We Support Them?

Sascha Franke: “Our clients include discerning homeowners, luxury retail brands, prestigious office developers, architects, designers and craftsmen. We guide each project from concept to completion to ensure floors match the client’s vision.

We also provide hands-on training in resin floor installation and metallic floor design techniques, helping craftsmen master the system for stunning and durable results.”
