What our Customers Say

FAQS – for homeowners & businesses

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS? WE’VE GOT ANSWERS

How long will my new floor last?

With proper care, these floors can last for many years, minimising the need for frequent replacements.

How much maintenance is required?

The seamless nature and smooth surface make resin floors easy to clean and maintain, requiring minimal effort. A quick sweep with a soft broom and a damp mop make cleaning easy.

We also have maintenance products that can be applied every six-twelve months (depending on the amount of traffic on your floor) to keep your floor looking in top shape.

Can my floor have under-floor heating?

Yes, our decorative metallic polyurethane floors are compatible with under-floor heating. And it helps with energy efficiency because it’s only 5-7mm thick.

Will scratches show on my floor?

Polyurethane is exceptionally tough and highly resistent to wear and tear. It’s perfect for high-traffic areas. It’s highly resistent to impacts and abrasions. But like any floor, you need to care for it properly and take measures to protect it from scratches and abrasions.

What’s the cost?

The price of your new floor depends on several factors – including the size of your space, the materials you choose, how much surface prep needs to be done and how labour-intensive the installation is.  Broadly-speaking, floors can range from 500kr. – 5000kr. per square meter, depending on the materials you choose.

Our decorative metallic PU floors generally cost about 1200 dkk (160 €) per square meter (+VAT). The price is dependent upon the size of the floor, how much prep is required and where you’re located. Our quotes always include everything – all materials, labour, installation, mileage and ensuring that your floor is a work of art that’s ready to use and enjoy when we’re finished.

Does a floor like this require a leap of faith?

Every decorative metallic PU floor is different – that’s why we say it’s a floor as unique as you are. In a way, it’s an artwork and if you want such a floor, you have to want something extraordinary that no one else has. So yes, it can be a leap of faith, but we will guide you along the way and help you realise your unique vision for your room.

What design possibilities are there?

Decorative metallic PU floors offer a virtually endless array of design effects – marble, cloud, melt, glitter, flakes – it’s even possible to have your logo if you’re a business.

What colours can I choose?

We offer a broad palette of different colours of metallic pigments, which can be combined to create amazing effects. If you don’t see the colour you’re looking for, get in touch and we can help you out. Check our colours here.

Which resin material should I choose for my decorative metallic floor?

Decorative metallic PU floors are rare, and a solvent-free, water-based system like Deko MetaFlow is even more exceptional. Unlike epoxy alternatives, which can yellow or peel over time, our Deko MetaFlow delivers vibrant, stable metallic pigments with lasting visual impact. Safe and environmentally responsible, the system’s primers and sealers carry the GEV-EMICODE® EC1PLUS certification for the lowest VOC emissions, ensuring excellent indoor air quality and safe use in both residential and commercial spaces.

Where are your products made?

Our products are made in Germany according to our unique formula and come with the highest level EMICODE certification for very low emissions.

Is the floor slippery?

It can be compared to a tile floor. It contains slip resistance R9/10 and it’s possible to add additional non-slip additive (R11) to the top coat.

Can Deko Design floors be installed over wooden floors?

No. Wooden floors must be removed before installing Deko Design floors. The system can be installed on solid substrates such as cement, concrete, or tile, and is suitable for use over underfloor heating.

Can I have Deko Design floor in the bathroom, including the shower area?

Yes. Our Deko Design metallic PU floors can be installed in bathrooms, but we do not recommend them for use inside the shower area. The floor’s surface requires a level base to achieve the best visual effect, and the slope or unevenness in shower areas can compromise the installation’s appearance. We suggest using a dedicated shower floor or pre-fabricated shower cabin in the shower area instead.

Can Deko Design floors be installed on walls?

No. Deko Design floors are engineered specifically for horizontal surfaces such as floors and kitchen worktops, where the system can properly level, cure, and deliver the durability and visual depth it is known for. Because the material is self-smoothing and designed to flow, it is not suitable for vertical installations like walls.

How long does it take to install a Deko Design floor?

Installation usually takes 3–5 days, depending on floor size, substrate condition, and room temperature. All movable furniture and fixtures must be removed before installation and remain off the floor for a couple of days afterward, as the surface cannot be walked on during this period.

Can owners install Deko Design floors themselves after taking the training?

This is not recommended due to limited experience. Getting the commissioning right is critical — there is only one chance to achieve the intended result, and attempting to doing it yourself can risk having to redo the entire floor. It’s not just about following practical steps or craftsmanship — a flawless floor requires years of experience, creativity, and artistry. Specialists understand how colours interact across a large surface and which techniques bring metallic pigments to life, ensuring the floor reflects the intended vision.

How ready should the floors be before installing Deko Design floors?

The floor must have a solid, level cement or concrete base that is clean, crack-free, and free from moisture or contaminants to ensure proper adhesion and finish. Thorough preparation is essential for achieving the desired metallic effect, durability, and long-term performance, and may influence the overall installation cost if foundation work is required.
