Who we are

Deko Design Systems ApS (CVR 44573199), Bøgeskovvej 140, 5540 Ullerslev, Denmark, is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. If you have questions about your data, write to info@dekodesignsystems.com or call +45 27 28 85 62.

What we collect and why

Enquiries and requests through our forms (quote requests, Specifier Pack, price list, brochure, data sheets, partner applications, MetaAcademy enquiries and the contact form). We collect what you enter, typically your name, email, phone number, company, country, postcode and message. We use it to answer your enquiry and to follow up on it. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a possible agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

We pass enquiries on to an authorised Deko partner or installer in your area, so they can help you. On our Swiss pages, phone calls and chats go directly to our partner in Switzerland.

Email updates. We only send you inspiration, product news and course updates by email if you tick “Yes, please!” in the “Want more inspiration?” box on a form. The box is optional and unticked. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every email. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).

Orders in our webshop. We collect your name, address, email, phone number and order details to deliver your order and handle returns and warranty. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card details. Legal basis: the purchase agreement, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (c)).

Course bookings. We collect the participant’s name, contact details and company to run the course and send practical information. For courses booked outside Denmark, we share the booking details with the Deko partner in that country, who runs the course and invoices it. Legal basis: the booking agreement (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).

Visits to the website. With your consent, we collect information about how the website is used: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived at the site. See “Cookies” below.

Cookies

The website uses cookies: small text files stored on your device. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks for your consent. You choose which categories you accept:

  • Necessary: needed for the website to work (for example the basket and your cookie choice). These do not require consent.
  • Preferences: remember settings such as language.
  • Statistics: help us understand how the website is used (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity).
  • Marketing: measure and improve our advertising (Google Ads, Meta/Facebook and Instagram).

Statistics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie icon or the “Cookie settings” link on the website. The banner also lists every cookie, its purpose and how long it is stored.

Who we share data with

We use service providers who process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes:

  • an email service provider within the EU, where form enquiries and email update sign-ups are stored;
  • our web hosting provider;
  • our payment provider (card payments in the webshop);
  • shipping providers and carriers (delivery of orders);
  • Google, Meta and Microsoft, only if you accept statistics or marketing cookies.

Google, Meta and Microsoft may process data in the USA. Such transfers take place under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

We also share enquiries and course bookings with authorised Deko partners and installers in your area, as described above.

We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: as long as they are relevant to our contact with you. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
  • Email updates: until you unsubscribe.
  • Orders and invoices: 5 years from the end of the financial year, as required by the Danish Bookkeeping Act.
  • Cookies: as shown in the cookie banner.

Your rights

You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive it in a common format (data portability). Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to info@dekodesignsystems.com.

If you want to complain about how we process your data, you can contact the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), www.datatilsynet.dk.

Changes

We update this policy when the way we process data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
