FAQS – FOR installers and training
How long does it take to learn to install metallic PU design floors?

We offer courses where you learn the basics in a 2-day course.

What’s the optimal course length to get a good understanding of the basics?

Decorative metallic PU floors take time and training to master. Creating a beautiful floor with the right techniques requires craftsmanship as well as creativity. That’s why our course is a two-day course. This gives you the chance to really dig in and explore all the aspects of installing a PU floor. You’ll learn how the product works and how it dries and gain experience in how the materials behave, as well as get to try out different decorative techniques.

Our two-day courses are for small groups and we make sure that we take the time that’s required to ensure that everyone gets attention and one-on-one guidance from the trainer. Our courses are also where we identify our future preferred installers and franchise partners. You should look on the two-day training as an investment in your learning and your skills that you can pass on to your customers.

Will I have the skills to install a floor right after my course?

As a newly-trained installer, it’s important that you use your first few projects to develop your own techniques and confidence. Typically for the first few floors, you would need some remote or onsite technical/installation support, depending on the size of the floor.

We never use a real customer project on our courses, because every customer deserves professional installation work for their unique floor. On our courses, you will get to create a selection of samples using different techniques before you actually create a real customer floor. You’ll gain experience and have actual sample boards that you can take home and use to show your customers what you can do. You’ll also see for yourself that it’s much better to learn in the safety of the classroom than on a customer’s actual floor! No one makes a perfect floor or sample on their first try. It takes practice, skills and creativity!

Even after your two-day course, we encourage you to use our starter kits to practice and to make some samples for your customers, so that you and the customer are in agreement before you do their actual floor. Every customer deserves a professional floor!

What’s included?

Course fee includes materials, lunch and refreshments. You also get a t-shirt, and 3 sample boards of your own design work to take home.

Where does the training take place?

The training takes places at our office on Fyn in Denmark.

Do I get a discount on your products?

You get a 10% discount on any products you purchase during the training.

What effects are possible with metallic pigments?

Our metallic pigments let you create an endless range of effects and looks for every floor application and style. The only limit is your imagination.

Why do some metallic pigments in your range look similar in colour?

Each pigment differs in particle size and formulation. These differences create depth, texture, and a dynamic effect in the finished floor.

How much time does it take to install a PU resin floor?

The key to a successful installation is preparing the floor. Depending on the floor, this process can take 3-5 days. Once the floor is prepped, the actual application of the decorative pigments takes only a few hours. Then it dries overnight before applying the sealant top coat.

How is Deko MetaFlow PU different from other PU and epoxy systems?

Deko MetaFlow is a solvent-free, water-based metallic PU system, specifically developed for decorative metallic floors—a rarity, as most PU systems are designed for industrial applications. Unlike epoxy, which can yellow or peel over time, Deko MetaFlow delivers stable metallic pigments, controlled self-leveling, and predictable results. It is easy to apply, safe, and environmentally responsible: our primers and sealers carry GEV-EMICODE® EC1PLUS certification for the lowest VOC emissions, ensuring professional, durable results in both residential and commercial projects.
